The Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act (the Act) is coming up on its 100th birthday. Over the last century, the law has evolved to keep up with changing conditions in the Commonwealth. One basic principle has remained the same: workers’ compensation is intended to cover an injured worker’s loss of wages and medical expenses resulting from an on-the-job injury. Sometimes, however, the system gets it wrong.
