For most people who are injured or disabled, Social Security disability (SSD) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits are a necessity. Unfortunately, what it takes to obtain them can be an extremely frustrating and even fruitless process without the advice of a skilled attorney.IMPORTANT: If you have already been denied a claim for SSD or SSI benefits, you have only a limited amount of time to appeal that decision. Our lawyers are ready to start working on your case for benefits today. For a free consultation, call our firm directly at 610-845-3803 or contact us online.
At Prince Law Offices, we have the experience it takes to help people recover the SSD and SSI benefits they deserve. In fact, members of our firm have been doing this type of work on behalf of injured workers, disabled adults and disabled children for more than 30 years.
Are You Eligible?
Generally speaking, you will be eligible for SSD benefits if you can meet these criteria:
- you have a significant work history;
- you have been diagnosed with a physical, mental or psychological condition;
- your condition has prevented, or may prevent you, from being able to work any job for 12 months or more.
On the other hand, SSI is a need-based program for people over age 65, the blind, and disabled adults and children who cannot meet the work history requirement for SSD benefits. SSI applicants still must meet the same medical diagnosis and disability requirements that SSD claimants have to meet.
